Caring Unlimited Celebrates Community, Honors Partners

Caring Unlimited, York County’s Domestic Violence Resource Center, recently presented its 2024 Community Awards and celebrated community partnerships at the organization’s annual Community Celebration.

Caring Unlimited’s Community Celebration honors the agency’s volunteers and community partners whose contributions help raise awareness about domestic abuse and support Caring Unlimited’s services so that victims and survivors have access to the resources they need to find safety.

Caring Unlimited’s Executive Director, Susan Giambalvo, stresses the importance of their contributions. “In the month of May alone, we received 236 Helpline calls from people who experienced abuse and more than 20 requests for shelter. As York County’s sole provider of comprehensive support for individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, we rely on the connections and support of our partners to deliver the life-changing services survivors need.”

The 2024 Community Partner Award: The Webhannet Charitable Foundation
This award is given annually to a business or foundation whose philanthropic support significantly impacts Caring Unlimited’s mission to end domestic violence.

Since 2010, The Webhannet Charitable Foundation has given a total of $54,450 in support to Caring Unlimited’s services including the Client Emergency Fund, which provides immediate direct financial support to meet survivors’ basic needs and increase safety, Holiday Giving Program, and the general fund.

The 2024 Community Impact Award: Michael Stone, Chains of Cranes
The Community Impact Award is given annually to individuals or groups whose actions make an independent impact and have an exponential impact by raising awareness and expanding the opportunities for survivors of domestic violence.

The Chains of Cranes project began in 2022 with the personal practice of folding paper origami cranes. Stone began selling the cranes at local boutiques and online with a portion of sales to benefit Caring Unlimited. Since its inception, the project has increased awareness about domestic violence while also yielding over $5,000 in donations to Caring Unlimited.
