Individualized safety planning

  • Talk to an advocate anytime by calling the 24 Hour Helpline.

Advocates are available to listen, provide support, and answer questions, while also providing information and/or connections to other Caring Unlimited programs and services.

  • We know that your situation, and each situation, is unique. Advocates will listen and work with you, so that Caring Unlimited can best support you.

  • Talk face-to-face with an advocate at a time and place that is convenient for you. A scheduled one on one meeting may provide a chance for more in depth safety planning, including connections with other community-based resources and services that may be available to you.

  • Risk Assessment: Caring Unlimited Advocates can talk with you about what you are experiencing and the tactics your partner is using to complete what is commonly referred to as a, “Risk Assessment.”

A Risk Assessment may help you consider various strategies to increase your safety, and may be useful if you are working with other service providers.

group support and education:

  • Caring Unlimited offers an online support group on Wednesdays evenings from 5:30-7 pm.

  • Support Groups are ongoing, and you can join or attend anytime after being screened by an advocate.

Visit our resources page to learn more about topics such as Protection from Abuse Orders, supporting a friend or family member who is experiencing domestic violence, and what support is available for someone who has experienced strangulation.

I don’t know when or where I heard about you but I finally found the courage to call and ask about support group. I was so scared. I remember being out front wondering if I should go in or just leave.

Walking into that group was the best decision of my life. I learned I was not alone, that it was OK to talk about my situation, that it is not OK to be abused.

I learned that I can protect my kids, that I am strong and can make boundaries and follow through with them, and that no one has the right to control my life.

I learned that I deserve respect…that I exist.

I remembered me.
